I think what’s so amazing about video games is how many people love them! For me, it’s all about escaping into another world – whether it’s a distant galaxy or something else entirely. The way games pull you in now, with incredible graphics and everything, really makes that feeling of being there possible. It’s just a totally immersive experience.
Two new Star Wars games are scheduled for release this year, and even more are planned for the future. What’s exciting is the variety of game types – Star Wars is exploring several different styles of gameplay.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer Launches October 2026
The new game Star Wars: Galactic Racer has fans excited because it’s being made by the creators of the popular Burnout series. While there have been other Star Wars racing games, fans have long wanted more. This announcement feels like a dream come true! The game will include both a single-player story mode and the ability to race against others in multiplayer.
The team that created the Burnout series is working on this game, so we anticipate fast-paced, action-packed racing. The huge variety of vehicles in the Star Wars universe gives us a lot to look forward to, and the overall concept is fantastic. That’s why we’re so excited for the release of Star Wars: Galactic Racer on October 6th.
Star Wars: Zero Company Could Be an Underrated Gem in 2026
Fans can expect Star Wars: Zero Company to be released sometime this year. The game blends the Star Wars universe with the strategic gameplay of XCOM. It’s being developed by the team behind the popular XCOM games, and early gameplay reveals a strong XCOM influence, making it a promising turn-based tactical RPG.
Set during the Clone Wars, Zero Company puts you in charge of a team of mercenaries and unlikely heroes as they fight to protect the galaxy from a new danger. The game features voice acting from Star Wars veterans like Dee Bradley Baker and Vic Michaelis, known for hosting Very Important People on Dropout. With its promising gameplay and talented cast, Star Wars Zero Company could be one of the year’s biggest surprises.
Star Wars Jedi 3 Marks the Conclusion of Cal’s Story
Although the official title is still unconfirmed, a new Star Wars Jedi game is in development. EA’s president announced after the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor that work has begun on the next Jedi game. This will be the third game in the series, continuing Cal’s story and bringing it to a conclusion.
Stig Asmussen, who directed the first two Jedi games, left Respawn Entertainment in 2023. This likely pushed back the release date, and now some believe the third game might not come out until 2028. However, many fans are hoping for a release next year, as the sequel is expected to be one of the most eagerly awaited games in a long time.
Star Wars Eclipse Comes From the Makers of Detroit Become Human
It’s been unusual how quiet things have been regarding updates for the upcoming Star Wars Eclipse game. First announced in 2021, the game is being developed by Quantic Dream, the team known for narrative-driven titles like Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, which both let players influence the story through their choices and conversations.
While originally planned for Star Wars Eclipse, development on the game has been quiet. Quantic Dream maintains they are still working on it, but so far, only a single teaser trailer has been released.
Knights of the Old Republic Remake Has Had a Tough Journey
The remake of Knights of the Old Republic has faced several challenges. Originally revealed at a PlayStation event in 2021, it promised updated graphics and would have been available first on PlayStation 5. However, the project was put on hold indefinitely in 2022, disappointing many fans.
When Saber Interactive took over development, excitement for the KOTOR remake increased. Despite recent changes with Embrace Group attempting to sell Saber, the game will continue to be developed internally. Despite some challenges, fans remain optimistic that the Knights of the Old Republic remake will eventually be released.
Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is the Ultimate Star Wars Project
The announcement of Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic was a major surprise. The game is being led by Casey Hudson, known for directing both Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect series, making this a significant development. Fate of the Old Republic will be a story-focused RPG, aiming to capture the spirit of the original KOTOR games.
As a huge Star Wars fan, I’m so excited about this new game! It’s going to be set right at the end of the Old Republic era, and we’ll get to play as a Force user making really impactful choices. If you’re familiar with Knights of the Old Republic, you know that means we’ll have the chance to embrace the dark side or become a beacon of light. We’ve all been hoping for a game like Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic for ages, but it looks like we’re going to have to be patient – it’s probably a couple of years away still.
