Every Time Taylor Swift’s Met Gala Looks Made the Whole Place Shimmer

Don’t blame TopMob for taking a trip down Met Gala memory lane.

Oh my gosh, the Met Gala is almost here! I can barely breathe thinking about it – Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour are co-chairing! I’ve been scrolling through pictures of past Galas for hours, and honestly, Taylor Swift’s looks are just everything. Seriously, every time I see photos of her on those steps at the Met, I lose it. I can’t wait to see what everyone wears this year!

Taylor Swift truly sparkled when she first attended the Met Gala in May 2008. The then 18-year-old singer wore a shimmering golden Badgley Mischka gown that perfectly fit the evening’s “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy” theme.

In May 2010, two years after her first appearance, Taylor returned to the Met Gala – fashion’s biggest event – wearing a beautiful, flowing gown by Ralph Lauren. The Gala that year celebrated the theme of “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity.”

An edgier turn came in 2011, when Taylor donned an ensemble by J. Mendel.

According to brand CEO Gilles Mendel, they are continuing discussions with Taylor Swift. He told The Hollywood Reporter in October 2012 that it’s remarkable how clearly she knows her own style, and he’s thrilled to be collaborating with her.

I was so excited when Taylor teamed up with the fashion house again for the 2013 Met Gala! The theme, ‘Punk: Chaos to Couture,’ was amazing, and I knew she’d bring something special to it.

In May 2014, Taylor Swift made another splash at the Met Gala, wearing a beautiful pink Oscar de la Renta gown. Interestingly, the dress almost didn’t make it to the event!

Taylor shared on X (formerly Twitter) that her cat unexpectedly attacked her custom Oscar de la Renta gown while she was getting it fitted for the Met Ball.

Fortunately, Taylor and her outfit—including her iconic red lipstick—were perfectly intact, creating a stunning scene at the Met Gala.

Taylor Swift saved her most memorable Met Gala outfit for 2016. As a co-chair that year, she arrived in a stunning Louis Vuitton look and with newly bleached blonde hair.

She described her desired look as a ‘futuristic gladiator robot’ while speaking with André Leon Talley on Vogue’s livestream from the red carpet. That’s exactly what she was hoping to achieve.

Before the May 4 red carpet begins, take a getaway car to Taylor’s Met Gala fashion.

Taylor Swift made a stunning first impression at the Met Gala. She wore a shimmering, sequined gown by Badgley Mischka and carried a delicate, gold clutch. At the time, she had no idea she would become a regular attendee at the event.

Taylor Swift stunned on the red carpet in a beautiful ivory beaded gown by Ralph Lauren Collection. She paired her wavy hair, swept back from her face, with a striking red lipstick.

Everyone expected the co-chair to make a statement on the red carpet, and Taylor didn’t disappoint! She wore a striking silver Louis Vuitton dress with cut-outs, paired with black lace-up heels and Eva Fehren rings.
