Sydney Sweeney is constantly in the spotlight, whether it’s because of her upcoming movies in 2025, her fashion choices like her recent gothic red carpet look, or speculation about her personal life, including rumors of a relationship with Scooter Braun. She generally doesn’t address the chatter, but she recently responded to accusations that she’s had cosmetic surgery.
Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in Euphoria, recently did an interview with Allure alongside Amanda Seyfried, her co-star in the upcoming movie The Housemaid (based on the book). During a segment called “Truth Serum,” Sydney was asked to address a false rumor about her appearance, and she was happy to set the record straight, saying:
I’ve always struggled to get things done, and I’m terrified of needles. It’s a real phobia for me.
It’s pretty common for celebrities to get Botox or fillers for cosmetic reasons, but Sydney Sweeney says she wouldn’t. Even after Amanda Seyfried suggested a little help can be beneficial with age, Sweeney explained she’s simply not a fan of needles.
She also addressed the topic of aging, responding to fans who pointed to older photos as evidence she’d had cosmetic procedures, saying:
It’s unfair to compare a picture of me from when I was a kid to a recent, professionally done photo. I’m going to look different after all these years! Honestly, I think everyone on social media is a little bit crazy.
She makes a good point. It’s rare for someone’s face to look exactly the same after a decade or more, and Sydney Sweeney now benefits from professional makeup, artists, and great lighting. In fact, if she hadn’t changed at all, people might be more suspicious.
Sydney Sweeney didn’t just address rumors about cosmetic procedures in her recent interview. She also talked with Amanda Seyfried about what she looks for in a partner. While she admitted she’s attracted to men who are tall, handsome, and physically fit, she emphasized that a good personality is essential – a bad personality is a dealbreaker.
Besides addressing other rumors, actress Christy also spoke about the controversy surrounding an American Eagle ad from earlier this summer. The ad playfully used the phrase “great jeans” as a pun on the word “genes,” but some people misinterpreted it as a reference to eugenics.
Sydney Sweeney rarely comments on stories about her, whether they’re good or bad. However, she decided to address recent headlines because she felt staying quiet was making things worse. She stated she’s against hate and division and always aims to unite people.
It remains to be seen if the actress will keep addressing the rumors surrounding her, but you can currently see her alongside Amanda Seyfried in The Housemaid, which comes out in theaters this Friday, December 19th.
