It appears that Daniel Drapeau, a key member of Haven Studios’ development team for the game Fairgame$, has left the company to join WB Games Montreal where he will serve as Creative Director. Previously, Daniel held the position of Game Director at Haven Studios.
It’s worth mentioning that Drapeau was among the initial team members at Haven Studios, and his LinkedIn profile reveals that he left the studio around August. Recently, he announced on LinkedIn that he has joined WB Games Montreal Inc. in the role of Creative Director. He expressed his excitement to embark on this new journey with the talented individuals at the studio.
As a dedicated gaming enthusiast myself, I’ve been an integral part of this vibrant industry since 2006, kicking off my journey as a game tester. Over time, my passion and hard work have allowed me to climb the ranks, particularly in the intricate world of game design. Some of the incredible projects I’ve had the privilege to contribute to include Rainbow Six Siege and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Throughout these years, I’ve been fortunate enough to call Ubisoft my professional home until making a move to Haven Studios in 2021.
The change at Drapeau isn’t the initial significant shift from Haven Studios’ Fairgame$ project. Previously, the studio head and founder, Jade Raymond, had parted ways with the company in May. A PlayStation representative acknowledged this by issuing a statement, appreciating Raymond for her valuable input to the studio’s endeavors. Since then, Marie-Eve Danis and Pierre-François Sapinski have assumed the role of co-studio heads.
The representative expressed that Jade Raymond was a remarkable collaborator and creative driving force behind the establishment of Haven Studios. They expressed profound appreciation for her leadership and efforts, and they wish her much success in her upcoming endeavors.
Back in May 2023, Haven Studios initially announced their upcoming game titled Fairgame$. To this day, no official details about the game have been provided by either Haven Studios or PlayStation. The anticipated game is classified as a heist title with Player-versus-Environment/Player (PvEvP) gameplay, and it’s being developed for both PC and PS5 platforms.
In a trailer’s unveiling, it was revealed that Fairgame$ features a team of three adventurers, who employ tools like grappling hooks to infiltrate what appears to be a fortified installation. Throughout their journey, they come across another band of individuals, who seemingly aim to plunder the same valuable item from the same location.
The job announcement for Fairgame$, a project by Haven Studios and PlayStation, states that it’s expected to be a significant AAA game release. According to the listing, the game is proceeding as planned and aims to offer an immersive AAA multiplayer experience.
Unofficially, whispers from May hint that Fairgame$ might incorporate aspects similar to live service games such as Fortnite and Tom Clancy’s The Division. Though not officially verified, it seems Haven Studios initially intended a smoother development process for
