Fairgame$ is Getting an Extraction Shooter Mode – Rumor

Despite being announced in 2023, we haven’t seen much of Haven Studios’ multiplayer shooter, Fairgame$. However, Insider Gaming recently shared some possible details, claiming that a mode focused on extracting players from the game is planned, according to documents obtained by Tom Henderson.

A new mode, rumored to be called Cargo Heist, challenges players to find a vault code and open a safe. The money inside is used to improve your character’s abilities. Players can drill open vaults to steal valuable items, then make their way to the Extraction Site. Similar to the Marathon mode, there’s a device needed to start the escape process, and if you fail to reach it in time, you’ll have to find an alternate exit.

The game also lets you confront competing teams, even setting up ambushes near the vault – though it’s unclear if you can steal their rewards. It feels so central to the experience that it could easily be mistaken for the core gameplay, rather than just a side activity. Considering early reports mentioned influences from games like The Division and Fortnite, it’s possible the game has evolved significantly during its creation.

The release date for Fairgame$ is currently set for sometime this year, according to internal plans. A new playtest is reportedly happening this weekend, though it remains to be seen if that will actually occur. Interest in the game has waned somewhat since the studio’s founder, Jade Raymond, left the company.
