Baywatch’s David Charvet Responds After Hitting, Killing Dog With Car

David Charvet‘s morning took a tragic turn.

According to law enforcement sources speaking with People and TMZ, the former Baywatch star reportedly hit and killed a dog with his truck while driving in a Malibu neighborhood early on April 16th.

The Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department confirmed to People magazine that they are investigating, but it doesn’t seem like Charvet meant to do anything wrong.

According to a spokesperson, the incident appeared to be an accident. The dogs were off their leashes and unexpectedly ran into the road, and [Charvet] attempted to steer clear of them.

According to Charvet’s representative, the actor was driving slowly around 5:30 a.m. when he came across a woman and her dogs in the road. The representative stated that Charvet steered to the side to avoid them, but one of the dogs ran under the car.

According to his representative, the 53-year-old man called 911 right away and stayed at the location. They stated he is a caring dog owner and would never deliberately hurt an animal.

According to his representative, Charvet was completely cooperative with the investigation and willing to assist further. He also extends his condolences to the family whose dog was lost.

TopMob News has contacted both Charvet’s representative and the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department for a statement, but neither has responded yet.

I’ve been following this case closely, and it’s so frustrating! Errico and her husband reported what they believed was a hit-and-run to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, according to TMZ. But apparently, the police aren’t calling it that because the other driver, Charvet, actually reported the incident herself. It’s a weird situation, and it seems like the police aren’t treating it like someone just drove off after a collision.

Officials are now working to get to the bottom of what exactly happened, according to TMZ.

David Charvet is most recognized for his roles as Matt Brody on Baywatch (1992-1996) and Craig Field on Melrose Place (1996-1998). He was married to Brooke Burke from 2011 to 2020, and they have two children together: a 19-year-old daughter named Heaven and an 18-year-old son named Shaya.
