fans can potentially look forward to remakes of two of the franchise’s most beloved titles.
Steam players have noticed something odd happening with the pages for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. When trying to leave a review for either game, many are seeing a message that says they need to wait until the game is officially released, even though both games have been out for years. Players have shared screenshots of this issue on social media.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas Are Overdue for Remakes
Considering Fallout: New Vegas and its predecessor were released over ten years ago, it strongly suggests that updated versions are on the way – probably complete remakes, not just updated versions of the originals.
Released in 2008 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, Fallout 3 was a huge hit with both critics and players. It received numerous Game of the Year awards, including recognition from IGN and Gamasutra, as well as multiple awards from various outlets for both Xbox 360 and PC.
Even now, many people consider Fallout 3 to be one of the greatest video games ever made. Currently, it has a remarkably high score of 93/100 on Metacritic, based on reviews from critics. Players also love it, giving it an 8.2/10 rating from over 2,600 reviews.
Released two years after Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas takes place in a completely new area – the ruins of old Las Vegas. While it wasn’t as commercially successful as Fallout 3, the game was still highly praised, currently holding an 84/100 score on Metacritic based on 81 professional reviews.
Besides the expected remakes of two beloved video games, Fallout fans have another exciting thing to anticipate: a new streaming series. Amazon Prime Video recently confirmed they are working on it.
According to a recent announcement from Prime Video, the show Fallout Shelter will present players with increasingly difficult challenges that test their problem-solving skills, ability to work together, and strength. Contestants will compete for survival, control, and a large cash prize as they face tough choices and moral dilemmas.
Studio Lambert, the company behind Netflix’s Squid Game: The Competition and the American adaptation of The Traitors (originally De Verraders), is producing Fallout Shelter. They’re working with Amazon MGM Studios and Bethesda Game Studios, the creators of the popular Fallout video game series, on this new project.
