I’ve been so hyped ever since Pokemon Winds and Waves was announced at the Pokemon Presents back in February, but it’s starting to look like we’re going to be waiting a while for more news. It’s got a really broad 2027 release window, and people who usually have inside info are saying we probably won’t hear anything new about the game this year. To make things even harder, the anime is taking a bit of a break until it can connect with the new game’s story. But hey, some fans think a character they just revealed might actually be a sneaky hint about what’s coming in the next generation of Pokemon – Gen 10!
On April 17th, Pokemon Horizons announced its next big story arc, called Wonder Voyage. The new promotional poster suggests that Ditto, a popular Pokémon from Pokopia, will be a key character. However, fans are particularly excited about a character standing behind Ditto, believing it could hint at the introduction of a long-awaited new Pokémon from Generation 10.
Pokemon Theory Gives Fans Fresh Hope for New Eeveelutions in Winds and Waves

So far, only three new Pokémon have been officially announced for the upcoming Pokémon Winds and Waves game. These are the three starter Pokémon revealed back in February. Everything else we’ve seen in gameplay footage has been from the tenth generation of Pokémon, plus some Pikachu wearing different outfits. Some fans think we might also see variations from the Pokopia region, like DJ Rotom, in Winds and Waves. However, a new theory has surfaced based on a mysterious character featured on the Wonder Voyage poster.
Ever since the new poster was released, fans have noticed hints that the upcoming series will connect to the popular Pokemon Go, Pokemon Sleep, and Pokemon Unite mobile games. However, some Pokemon news creators and those who share leaks have suggested that the girl disguised as Ditto in the poster might actually be connected to a brand new Pokemon from Generation 10, which will first appear in the Pokemon Horizons anime.
A new character appearing in the anime will be linked to a brand-new Pokémon from Generation 10, which will also be shown for the first time in the series.

It’s not uncommon for Pokémon to appear in the animated series before they’re featured in the video games. For example, Ho-Oh appeared in the very first episode of the anime, but wasn’t playable until the release of Pokémon Gold and Silver. Ash even battled a Blaziken in the anime before it was introduced in the third generation of games. So, the idea that a new Pokémon might be revealed this way is definitely possible. Naturally, fans are already speculating that this new image hints at another Eeveelution.
The recent teaser trailer has sparked excitement among Pokémon fans, with many speculating about a possible new Eeveelution. A popular theory, resurfaced on Twitter, suggests it could be a Flying-type. It’s been over ten years since Sylveon was introduced in Pokémon X and Y, and fans have long hoped for new Eeveelutions to cover types not yet represented. Over the years, numerous concept designs have circulated online, including a Flying-type that many are eager to see become real. Some fans have also pointed out the character’s hairstyle resembles Eevee’s ears, and the game’s title includes the word “wind,” leading them to believe a Flying-type Eeveelution is likely.
I don’t think the character’s design clearly suggests she’s a Flying-type trainer. With her pink and purple hair, I actually think she might be connected to Ditto – either as its trainer or even disguised as Ditto herself. Still, as an Eevee fan myself, I understand why people are hoping for a new Eevee evolution to be revealed.
