I’m so glad *The Fantastic Four: First Steps* is coming to home viewing soon! We’ve been waiting for Marvel’s First Family to join the MCU since that first tease at Comic-Con back in 2019, and it was totally worth the wait when it finally hit theaters in July 2025. There was a lot of pressure on this movie – the cast is already set to return for *Avengers: Doomsday*, and everyone wanted to see these characters done right after a few previous misses. But it really delivered! With over $500 million earned and amazing scores – 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, and even 91% from audiences – I think it’s safe to say they nailed it.
Following its theatrical release, *The Fantastic Four: First Steps* will be available for purchase on digital platforms starting September 23rd, 2025. This is roughly two months after its cinema debut, mirroring the release schedule for other Marvel Cinematic Universe films in 2025, like *Captain America: Brave New World* and *Thunderbolts*. Currently, *First Steps* is also nearing a box office milestone – with a worldwide gross of $518.8 million, it’s only a few hundred thousand dollars behind the 2015 film *Ant-Man*, which earned $519.3 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
Was Fantastic Four: First Steps A Box Office Hit For Marvel?

If *The Fantastic Four: First Steps* earns more than *Ant-Man*, it will become the 26th highest-grossing movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, out of a total of 37 films. However, it’s still far behind *Iron Man*, which earned over $585 million – a milestone *Fantastic Four* won’t reach. While this result might not be the blockbuster debut some expected for a new MCU team, especially with a well-known star like Pedro Pascal, it’s certainly not a failure.
The movie cost over $200 million to make, so it needed to earn between $450 and $500 million worldwide just to cover its costs. It’s managed to do that, although it might not be a massive financial success. Looking at the bigger picture for Marvel, it’s performing well: it’s currently on track to be Marvel’s highest-grossing film of 2025, surpassing both *Brave New World* ($415 million) and *Thunderbolts* ($382 million). While it could have been more successful, especially considering it came out during a busy summer season so soon after the release of James Gunn’s *Superman*, it definitely could have performed much worse.
When Will Fantastic Four: First Steps Release on Disney+?

Fans who missed *The Fantastic Four: First Steps* in theaters, or want to watch it again, will be happy to hear it’s coming to streaming! While a Video on Demand release is coming soon, the biggest news is its arrival on Disney+. Although a specific date hasn’t been announced, we can estimate based on previous releases. *Captain America: Brave New World* and *Thunderbolts* both became available on Disney+ six and eight weeks after their digital releases, respectively, and both launched on a Wednesday. This suggests *First Steps* could arrive on Disney+ on November 5th, 12th, or 19th, though how well it performs on demand might affect the timing. Either way, fans won’t have to wait much longer to enjoy the movie at home.
