Square Enix hasn’t said much about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, but they’ve shared a few details recently, including that it will have fewer side activities than Rebirth and will be released on multiple platforms. While the official title is still unknown, director Naoki Hamaguchi has stated that the main part of the game is nearly finished.
In an interview with YouTuber Julien Chièze (translated by The Gamer), director Guillaume Broche of Clair Obscur: Expedition 3 explained that the main part of the game is nearly finished and the team is now focusing on improvements and final touches, according to comments made by Hamaguchi.
As the game’s director, he has a clear vision for the finished product and is eager for players to experience it. However, he emphasizes that careful development and polish are essential before release.
Once we finish this stage correctly, we’ll have a final version we can be proud of. Please be patient, and we’ll share more details shortly.
The announcement could arrive as early as December 11th at The Game Awards, or potentially within the next six months – it depends on how you define “soon.” Tetsuya Nomura, the creative director, stated last September that the team has already set a firm date and is following it. While the exact timing remains unknown, development appears to be progressing as planned.
The next installment in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series – currently known as Part 3 – will be released on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and the new Nintendo Switch 2. Before that, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is coming to Switch 2 and Xbox on January 22, 2026, and Rebirth will be released at a later date.
