Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Reveal Being Prepared, Says Square Enix

The team behind Final Fantasy VII Remake has been sharing new details this week as Square Enix prepares to launch Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Xbox Series X|S and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

While much of the recent discussion has centered on bringing the game to consoles other than PlayStation 5, director Naoki Hamaguchi also hinted at the upcoming third and final part of the remake. He told Comicbook that Square Enix is currently working on plans to officially announce it.

Hamaguchi confirmed the third game is still on track and development is going well, assuring fans it will be a satisfying conclusion to the series. He asked for a little more patience, saying an announcement about the game is coming soon and that they know fans are excited.

The first two Final Fantasy VII Remake games were initially only available on PlayStation consoles. However, the third game, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, will be released on Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 at the same time, reflecting Square Enix’s new approach. When those versions launch in early June, any new cheats or boosts they include will also be added to the PlayStation 5 version.
