Endlfame, the creators of Ikai, have revealed their next project, Silent Road. This psychological horror game puts you in the shoes of a taxi driver working the night shift in a remote, historically troubled area of Japan. It’s scheduled to release on PC via Steam in 2026.
Laura Ripoll and Guillem Travila, the founders of Endflame, have always been fans of Japanese horror films—particularly their suspenseful atmosphere and lasting impact. They explained in a press release that their new game, Silent Road, grew out of this passion. After their initial success with the J-Horror inspired game Ikai, the team found themselves wanting to revisit the genre. Silent Road represents that return, and they’ve put a lot of effort into creating a scary game with a meaningful story. They expressed both excitement and nervousness about sharing it with the world.

Here is an overview of the game, via Endflame:
About
Silent Road is a scary psychological horror game played from a first-person perspective. It’s set in a remote, historically tragic area of the Japanese countryside. You play as a taxi driver working the night shift, driving through creepy mountain roads, deserted streets, and quiet villages. Each passenger you pick up adds to the suspense with strange conversations and unsettling mysteries, making you feel like something isn’t right.
Inspired by the look and feel of classic Japanese horror, Silent Road creates a deeply unsettling and frightening experience as you drive, relying on atmosphere and a gradually building sense of dread.
Story
When night comes, the forest seems to come alive with hidden things. You’re a taxi driver working the late shift in an area known for its sad history and eerie local legends. Each passenger brings new whispers, odd behavior, and puzzling hints that slowly reveal the dark secret behind the forest’s troubled past.
What starts as a normal job quickly turns terrifying. Passengers begin acting strangely, the weather gets worse, and something supernatural starts to close in. You’ll have to navigate frightening journeys and unsettling events to solve the mystery of the forest before it overwhelms you.
