The eagerly awaited “Fist of the North Star” is set to debut in 2026, as suggested by the key visual which shows main character Kenshiro flexing his knuckles with the words “ANIME DEBUTING IN 2026” prominently displayed.

Japan has also created numerous renowned anime series in recent years, such as “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure”, “Mob Psycho 100”, “Batman Ninja”, live-action versions of “Rurouni Kenshin” and “Bleach”. The timeless manga “Fist of the North Star” from the 80s boasts over 100 million copies in circulation. The original manga was penned by Buronson and illustrated by Testuo Hara, and it’s set in an apocalyptic world in the year 199X. The story revolves around a solitary traveler named Kenshiro, who traverses the desolate landscape in search of his sworn adversary, Shin.
Kenshiro is well-known for his massive physique and the seven scars marking his chest. He’s the inheritor of the legendary martial art, Hokuto Shinken, also known as “Fist of the North Star.” Wandering through a post-apocalyptic world, Kenshiro would respond to the cries of the oppressed, transforming into a beacon of hope for a planet in dire need. The original manga spanned 245 chapters and concluded on August 8, 1988, published across 27 volumes. The series gained immense popularity, leading to an anime adaptation by Toei Animation in 1984. The classic Fist of the North Star anime ran for 109 episodes, concluding in 1987. Toei produced a sequel titled “Fist of the North Star 2” that ran for 43 additional episodes, lasting until 1988. In 2014, Discotek Media released the entire series on standard-definition Blu-ray.
