On September 4th, gaming enthusiasts can expect the launch of cooperative racing game “Fling to the Finish“, developed by SplitSide Games and published by Daedalic Entertainment.
Initially available through Steam’s Early Access program for PC on August 23, 2021, the game “Fling to the Finish” officially launched in its complete form on January 18, 2024.
Here is an overview of the game, via Daedalic Entertainment:
About
In “Fling to the Finish“, pairs of competitors navigate vibrant, disorderly challenge tracks, connected by an extendable elastic cord as they go.
As a dedicated player diving into this game with my pals for the first time, I found our rope getting hopelessly entangled with just about every obstacle we encountered. However, as we honed our teamwork and communication skills, it became apparent that our rope was far from a hindrance – instead, it proved to be an invaluable asset that helped us navigate through the challenges together.
Skilled gamers can utilize ropes to navigate treacherous hindrances, even hurling teammates onto cliffs to avoid plummeting down below. Once partners become adept at manipulating their rope, they can perform daring stunts that surpass the capabilities of any other side-scrolling game!
Contenders have the opportunity to display their talents by participating in either online or local competitions against numerous other participants!
Key Features
- Ways to Play – Play solo or online. Be tethered together in local or online cooperative play. Race your friends in local split-screen. Enjoy the chaos of Fling to the Finish in a way that fits you.
- Courses! – Every course in Fling to the Finish has a unique theme and style. Race through floating parks, giant casinos, and even worm filled asteroid fields to reach the finish line! We designed every obstacle to force you to use the rope in a new way, so every second is filled with new surprises and memorable moments. The race track even evolves to challenge you as you play, so every race is a nail biter. You’ll never know what weird obstacle you’ll find next.
- Attacks! – Opponents battle back with hails of plungers, sinking weights, and evil lasers if they fall behind. Our items keep the races interesting, and help even the score if one player has more experience than another.
- Share a Controller – Because you’re literally attached to your partner, Fling to the Finish is a truly cooperative experience. If you want, you can even play through Fling to the Finish by sharing a controller with your partner. This control scheme is great for local cooperative play, and adds an extra dimension to the game. While you push and pull each other in game, try not to do the same in real life!
