Be warned, this article contains spoilers for season 5, episode 4 of For All Mankind. Throughout the series, the Baldwin family has consistently been portrayed as heroic figures. However, season 5 has noticeably lacked the presence of another family that’s been important to the show. With Ed Baldwin’s recent death, his daughter Kelly and grandson Alex are now positioned to step up and carry on his legacy.
As a long-time fan, I’m really starting to wonder what’s happening with the Stevens family. You know, Gordo and Tracey – those heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice on the moon back in season two? It feels like a huge missed opportunity that they haven’t appeared at all this season. And what about their sons, Danny and Jimmy? They’re such complex characters, and I’m hoping we’ll get to see them play a role soon. Their absence in season five is definitely noticeable.
The Stevens family has a rich and vibrant history, and they’ve been a central part of this show from the very beginning. Now that Danny’s daughter, Avery, has appeared in season 5, episode 4, we’re starting to explore what the future holds for the Stevens family and their story.
Danny Stevens’ Daughter Joins The Cast Of For All Mankind Season 5
We first met Avery as a baby on For All Mankind in season 3. Now, two decades later, she’s a young woman determined to forge her own path, separate from the troubled legacies of her father and uncle. To emphasize this, she’s legally changed her name to Avery Jarret, taking her stepfather’s surname.
This season, Avery begins her journey with an interview for a space mission. She’s hoping to prove she’s capable of serving her country, but struggles with social interactions. This creates tension, both in the interview itself and later when she tries to connect with her colleagues at a bar.
Avery Has A Lot In Common With Her Father, Good & Bad
Avery struggles to escape the shadow of her family’s past. The damage caused by her father’s actions, and especially by her uncle’s involvement in the NASA flight control center explosion, continues to impact her deeply. This leads to frequent angry outbursts and a constant need to prove her worth.
She has several characteristics in common with her late father, including a tendency to argue, difficulty managing her emotions, and a general distrust of others. However, she also demonstrates positive qualities like ambition, a strong desire to help people, and a determined effort to prove herself.
Despite making errors in judgment and struggling to repair relationships, Danny Stevens had moments of genuine heroism during For All Mankind. A prime example is when he bravely saved everyone on board the Helios space hotel, the very place where he got married.
Avery Has The Chance To Follow A Very Different Path To Her Father
The Stevens family has always been a source of both success and controversy in the world of For All Mankind, and Avery is poised to become a major player in the future. After taking Danielle Poole’s advice, she’s been cleared for a space mission, giving her the chance to make her own mark and step out from under the shadow of her family’s legacy.
She’s capable of making mistakes and even acting like a villain, but she also has the potential to be a truly inspiring hero who triumphs over challenges and improves the lives of others.
I’m really invested in Avery’s storyline, and I have a feeling it’s going to be huge for the rest of this season of For All Mankind, and even more so in the final season. It seems like she’s going to be central to everything that happens from here on out.
