DreamWorks Animation, known for heartwarming stories like How to Train Your Dragon (a boy and his dragon), Shrek (an ogre and a donkey), and The Wild Robot (a robot and a gosling), presents a new trailer for Forgotten Island. This film tells the moving story of two best friends who need to reconnect before their friendship fades.
H.E.R., a Grammy and Academy Award® winner, and actress Liza Soberano play best friends Jo and Raissa, who are about to graduate high school and go their separate ways. During their last night together, they discover a magical portal that takes them to Nakali, a fantastic island filled with creatures from Filipino folklore and the stories their families used to tell.
Okay, so picture this: I’m totally hooked on this movie. It’s about Jo and Raissa who end up making some friends and enemies on this crazy island. They team up with this goofy but lovable weredog named Raww – Dave Franco plays him, which is perfect – and a bunch of other cool characters. But the big bad is this terrifying creature called the Manananggal, voiced by the amazing Lea Salonga! The stakes are huge because they find out the only way off the island is to forget all their memories together. It’s a race against time to escape before they lose each other completely – seriously gripping stuff!
The film features a fantastic voice cast, including Jenny Slate (known for Marcel the Shell with Shoes On), Manny Jacinto (Top Gun: Maverick), Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness), comedy star Jo Koy (Haunted Mansion), and Ronny Chieng (M3GAN). Jenny Slate and Dolly de Leon have both received Emmy and BAFTA nominations, respectively.
Forgotten Island will be released in UK cinemas on 16th October 2026
