This has led to increased interest in former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan, who has subtly suggested he might return to the franchise in some role, even if not as the lead. In a recent interview with GQ, Brosnan directly stated he’s open to being involved in future Bond projects.

Ever since Amazon acquired MGM and started working on the next James Bond film, there’s been a lot of speculation. One persistent rumor is that Pierce Brosnan could return, not as the current 007, but as a retired Bond who mentors the new actor. Brosnan has acknowledged these rumors, saying he wouldn’t want to play a very old Bond, but he’d definitely consider it if director Denis Villeneuve had a creative idea. He thinks it could be fun and entertaining, perhaps even involving some clever makeup and prosthetics.
There’s potential for Pierce Brosnan to return to the James Bond world in different ways, perhaps in a more dramatic, character-driven role, or even as an older, retiring Bond – similar to the movie Logan. Brosnan himself seems relaxed about the future, saying he’s open to possibilities but isn’t actively pursuing anything specific. He stated, “Things change, things fall apart, so you just have to sit back and enjoy the ride.”
