The upcoming Forza Horizon 6 will feature significantly improved car lights thanks to new refraction-based shaders, making them look more realistic. Players will also finally be able to add decals to their car windows, and even wrap them around the entire vehicle. Beyond that, Playground Games has announced a range of other enhancements for those who love to personalize their rides.
You have lots of options when choosing a color for your car. You can quickly change between different sheens like glossy, semi-gloss, matte, and metallic. Plus, you can save your favorite colors and materials – including new choices like metal flake and candy paint – for easy access. You can even customize individual parts of the Forza Aero Bumpers and Rear Wings, painting the materials, supports, and even the tow hook separately.
You can truly personalize these vehicles beyond just changing their appearance. Want to install a motorcycle engine in place of the standard 660cc engine? Feel free. Plus, there’s a huge selection of over 100 different rims available, and you can even mix and match styles for the front and rear wheels, along with a wide variety of tire treads.
Barn Finds are back, and you can now also find Aftermarket Cars all over Japan. These rare cars, often customized for racing or with unique parts, appear near Time Attack circuits or Horizon Festival locations. Examples include a 2003 Honda S2000 with a Rocket Bunny body kit, a 1993 Autozam AZ-1 enhanced with Mazdaspeed components, and a 2015 McLaren 570S Coupe modified by Duke Dynamics.
Beyond the main story, you can also find and restore Treasure Cars. You’ll use photographs as clues to locate them. And once you do, you can drive these classic vehicles – including finds like the 1991 Nissan Figaro, 1985 Nissan Safari Turbo, and 1969 Dodge Charger R/T – which might make you want to skip straight to driving! It’s easy to understand why, considering how beautifully detailed the game world is – did you know Tokyo is designed as its own unique environment?
The latest installment in the racing series, Forza Horizon 6, will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC starting May 19th. PlayStation 5 players can look forward to the game later in 2024, developed by Turn 10 Studios.
