The popular anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has been renewed for a third season, and fans are loving the story of the immortal elf. While the anime is produced by Studio Madhouse, recent news has focused on the manga itself. Typically, manga artists prefer to stay out of the public eye, and rarely show their faces. Well-known examples include Eiichiro Oda, creator of One Piece, and Gege Akutami, who created Jujutsu Kaisen. Now, the artist behind Frieren, a friend to many in the industry, has revealed their face to the public for the first time.
Manga artist Mitsuru Adachi, known for popular series like “Mix,” “Idol Ace,” and “H2,” recently shared a photo of themself on the official Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End social media account. Many fans were surprised, as they hadn’t seen a picture of the 75-year-old artist before. The post showed Adachi with Frieren merchandise, demonstrating their appreciation for the anime series which has become a big hit in the industry.

Frieren: Season 3 And Beyond

Fans of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will be happy to hear that a third season is confirmed! It will cover the popular Golden Land Arc, introducing a new immortal character who may be even more powerful than Frieren herself. While Frieren has used her long life to learn about humanity, this new villain has been using his immortality for very different purposes. Despite the good news about the anime, the manga is still facing some challenges.
Last October, the creators of the popular manga Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, announced a break from the series. While the exact reason wasn’t shared, it was due to Yamada needing to focus on his health. It’s become increasingly common for manga artists to take time off due to the demanding and time-consuming nature of the work. As of today, there’s no confirmed date for when Frieren’s manga will return, but fans eagerly await news of its comeback.
With fans eagerly awaiting the third season of Frieren, a few new anime series are emerging as potential favorites. Witch Hat Atelier, a manga often compared to Frieren in terms of its enchanting story, just released its first episode earlier this month. Early reactions suggest it could be a strong contender and give Frieren some competition.
