From star Harold Perrineau knows how you feel.
He understands how painful it is to wait for resolutions, particularly after a show leaves you on a cliffhanger and makes you wait a long time for the next season to find out what happens.
Now that season 4 has arrived and we know there will be a fifth and final season, it looks like the story is finally coming to a conclusion.
“The best part is solving the mystery, honestly,” Perrineau shared with TopMob. “I know some viewers are getting frustrated because they can’t find all the answers right away, and a few have even said they’re considering stopping watching. But if everything was clear, the show wouldn’t be very interesting anymore.”
The third season concluded with Boyd, played by Perrineau, witnessing the return of a past foe, which deeply shook his feeling of power in the town. It was also revealed that Tabitha and Jade are the reincarnated versions of the parents of one of seven children the town’s founders sacrificed to achieve eternal life.
Those residents later became the creatures who have been terrorizing the people trapped in Fromville since the very beginning of the series.
One of the biggest mysteries from season three is what happened to Jim. He was seriously injured and left bleeding after being attacked by the mysterious Man in Yellow near the RV.
From excels at revealing answers that only create more questions, as we saw in season 3. While we now understand where the monsters came from, the details of the bargain they struck for eternal life remain a mystery.
Thankfully, Perrineau promises we’re in good hands with the shows creative team.
Perrineau praised John’s writing, saying the puzzles and clues are cleverly designed. Some are incredibly subtle and will take a long time to figure out, while others are more obvious and offer big hints about the town and the creatures within it.
Shows like ‘From’ can be puzzling – just when you think you have an answer, even more questions arise. But it’s actually these unanswered questions that have built the show’s dedicated fanbase, affectionately known as the ‘Fromily’.

Perrineau explained that when you constantly ask questions and talk to people – friends, family, or even him – it creates a confusing situation, but that’s actually a good thing.
It’s easy to get focused on figuring things out, but we should also remember to have fun working through the mysteries together as a community. That shared journey makes it even more satisfying when the answers are revealed, and we find out if our theories were correct.
There are a lot of subtle details and hidden references throughout the game, and when you discover them, it’s really satisfying,” Perrineau explained. “It’s a cool feeling when everything clicks.
As a film buff, I get impatient waiting for the climax, but I keep reminding myself that the story is almost at its end. It’s frustrating, sure, but the resolution is just around the corner!
With season 5 arriving soon, we’ll finally have answers, so let’s appreciate the anticipation and enjoy the ride, just like Perrineau suggested.
From season 4 will arrive in the US on 19 April. From seasons 1-3 are available to stream on NOW.
