Ghost of Yōtei and The Outer Worlds 2 Confirmed for Gamescom Opening Night Live

At Gamescom 2025, Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Yōtei will make an appearance at the Opening Night Live event, as announced by host Geoff Keighley. On the other hand, The Outer Worlds 2 is scheduled for an “exclusive theater presentation” during Xbox’s broadcast days and will also be featured in the showcase.

The new phrasing aims to maintain the original meaning while using simpler and more conversational language.

On October 2nd, the game titled “Yōtei’s Spirit” debuts on PS5, following over 300 years after “Ghost of Tsushima.” The main character, Atsu, embarks on a quest for revenge in Ezo, targeting the Yōtei Six. Sucker Punch has shared some fresh gameplay footage, emphasizing the use of the kusarigama and then the yari.

Meanwhile, “The Outer Worlds 2” is set for release on October 29th, available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Originally costing $79.99 but now reduced to $69.99, the game takes you to the colony of Arcadia where you’ll explore strange rifts. The narrative will center around the Tomb of the Matriarch within the Protectorate’s domain, showcased in a dramatic presentation.

For Gamescom Opening Night Live, streaming begins at 11 AM PDT on August 19th. Expect unveilings for titles such as Silent Hill and Lords of the Fallen 2, along with more announcements. Keighley has also hinted at a musical performance for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Keep an eye out for further updates in the meantime.
