It’s possible that Massive Entertainment’s hint at a major announcement for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 at Gamescom is actually referring to a new expansion pack. Moreover, the latest teaser suggests that this expansion might take place in a winter-themed Washington D.C. setting.
The programmer posted on Twitter that SHD scanners detected “strange occurrences” and hinted at further information coming out at Gamescom. If the mental picture of trekking through Washington D.C.’s streets doesn’t already intrigue you, there’s the double meaning behind “Keep cool.” Is it possible that this could be a revival of the Survival mode from The Division 1, which provided an enjoyable extraction-style gameplay for players?
It’s still unknown when exactly, but Massive has scheduled two panels for Gamescom, one focusing on the behind-the-scenes of Battle for Brooklyn and its upcoming season details. The second panel will showcase how player feedback influences their looter shooter, unveiling a major project simultaneously. Additionally, updates are expected for the free-to-play mobile game The Division Resurgence, so keep an eye out for more information.
SHD scanners picked up unusual activity. Intel arrives at Gamescom. Stay frosty, Agents.
