On Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 6:15 am, Sony confirmed via email to Kotaku that Drew Harrison is no longer employed by Sucker Punch.
According to the statement issued, Drew Harrison is no longer employed by Sucker Punch Productions.
The company failed to provide more details, but it seems clear that her remarks about the slain activist Charlie Kirk might have been the cause for her contract being terminated, as suggested by the given timeline.
The developers at Sucker Punch are about to have a reason to rejoice, as their upcoming sequel, Ghost of Yotei, is set to release soon!
It appears it could potentially be caught up in a work-related controversy, as a Senior Staff Character Artist is alleged to have been dismissed following remarks about Charlie Kirk’s demise.
If you’re unaware, a vocal political commentator met his tragic end after being shot at an event in Utah recently. As I type this, authorities have yet to apprehend the individual responsible for the shooting.
In a response to the situation, Drew Harrison humorously expressed hope that the shooter’s name might be Mario, implying that if so, Luigi would understand his brother was supporting him.
Last year, Luigi Mangione is under accusation for the murder of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, which refers to this individual.
Draw shared another post a few hours later, hinting that she may have informed her employers, specifically Sucker Punch and Sony, about the comments made.
Earlier this morning, she penned down: “Should losing a job that I had for a decade be the consequence of taking a stance against fascism, I would make that choice a hundred times more forcefully.
She’s recently made changes on her LinkedIn profile, indicating that her full-time position at Sucker Punch ended in September 2025.
At present, it’s uncertain whether the comments she made on social media have any connection with her job at Sony. We plan to reach out to them for more information to help us understand the situation better.
