GNOSIA was initially released in Japan for the PS Vita on June 6, 2019. It later came to the Nintendo Switch on December 17, 2020 in Japan, and worldwide on March 4, 2021. The game was also released on PC via Steam on January 23, 2022, and on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on December 14, 2023.
Here is an overview of the game, via PLAYISM:
About
The Gnosia are imposters. They disguise themselves as humans to infiltrate, manipulate, and secretly eliminate people, one by one.
The crew of a spaceship lost in space is battling a dangerous and unknown enemy called the “Gnosia.” Unable to identify who among them is a Gnosia, they decide on a risky plan: they will put the most suspected crew members into suspended animation, hoping to eliminate the threat from within.
GNOSIA is a sci-fi role-playing game where you try to figure out who among your crewmates is a Gnosia – a hidden threat. You’ll talk to different characters, gather clues, and then vote to send the suspected Gnosia into suspended animation. As you play, both you and the crew become more skilled, making the challenge increasingly difficult.
With more crew members, Gnosia, and different roles appearing, figuring out who’s telling the truth will get harder. Team up with or oppose other crewmates to stay alive until the very end.
Key Features
- Repeatedly play through “loops,” triggering special events to unravel mysteries in a uniquely original narrative. Certain events will unlock new commands for you to use during discussions.
- Step into a variety of roles to develop different character builds. Your stats will determine how effectively you can sway the group’s opinion or lie, and will also affect your likelihood of being selected for cold sleep.
- Engage with an engrossing and eclectic cast of characters and experience randomly triggered events, each one unique to its subject. Character events will reveal information about your crewmates in the form of special “Notes.”
