Having conquered the Greek pantheon and overcome the challenges of Norse mythology, the God of War series appears to be heading to Egypt for its next adventure.
Someone digging into the game files for God of War Ragnarok has found some hidden conversations. If these conversations are accurate, they might reveal where the next God of War game will take place.
Spoilers below.
A Reddit user named TheMorse_ discovered some unused conversation snippets hidden within the files for the game Ragnarok. You can view the complete conversations by following the link.
One scene features a character known as the ‘Robed Figure’ talking about Odin and Atreus, and it seems this conversation relates to a special mask that allows glimpses into another dimension. The figure is revealed to be Athena, who previously appeared to Kratos in a memorable scene from the 2018 God of War game.
One scene shows Atreus talking to a character who simply responds with “Mau”. “Mau” is an Egyptian word for “cat,” but it also means “sun.” Interestingly, Ra is the Egyptian god of the sun.
TheMorse discovered hidden content in God of War (2018) that correctly predicted elements of the beginning of God of War Ragnarök.
The God of War games set in Norse mythology subtly suggest connections to Egyptian mythology, and also imply the existence of an even greater power that oversees all the gods we encounter in the series.
Additionally, it’s been said that Kratos will wield an Egyptian sword in the next game.
We can’t say for sure, but the evidence strongly suggests this is where the story is going.
