Keeping up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe takes dedication. It’s not just about watching everything, but actively looking for hidden clues and hints about what might happen next. This can be really enjoyable, sparking lots of fan theories and discoveries. Recently, viewers spotted a surprising and significant character detail in an episode of Daredevil: Born Again – but it was easy to miss if you weren’t paying close attention.
Fans watching the Disney+ show Daredevil: Born Again spotted something surprising in episode four. Briefly, what looks like Uatu, the Watcher, appears in a window near the end of the episode, right after Daredevil and Bullseye break through it. It’s a very quick shot, easy to miss, but viewers paused and shared it online, and it really does resemble the Watcher.
A character known as The Watcher briefly appeared in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. It’s unclear if this was a deliberate choice by the creators or simply a random occurrence.

Is That Really the Watcher in Daredevil: Born Again? What’s He Doing Here?!

Let’s be realistic: the supposed appearance of the Watcher in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is likely just a coincidence. A close look at the image suggests what people think are the Watcher’s eyes are actually fluorescent lights, and the rest of the head shape seems to be part of the building’s interior. It’s the most logical explanation – a strange, accidental effect created by the filming angle and lighting, rather than a cameo by one of Marvel’s most powerful characters.
Despite this, the Watcher isn’t new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He first appeared in the Disney+ series What If…? and also made an appearance in the I Am Groot Special. While there’s no obvious reason for him to show up in Daredevil: Born Again, this is Marvel, and anything can happen. The Watcher, as his name suggests, observes everything. Knowing the MCU exists within a multiverse, it’s possible this observed moment could become important later on. This uncertainty is what’s sparking debate among fans. Most believe it’s just a coincidental visual similarity, but many others remember that with Marvel, you can never say never.
But seriously, though. Why would the Watcher be watching Daredevil? Time will tell, I guess.
