Wow, slowest week of the year so far? It’s got to be!
There aren’t many standout games this time, but we’re cautiously optimistic about a couple. MOTORSLICE, a parkour platformer, seems promising, and Mixtape looks like it could be a compelling story about growing up.
At least there’s your new PS Plus Essential games to download.
Here’s everything coming out next week.
New PS5, PS4 Games Next Week (4th-10th May)
- MOTORSLICE (5th May – PS5): “Parkour through the ruins of a megastructure, climb massive bosses, and hunt down every construction equipment in this slice of life action-adventure with immaculate vibes.”
- Wax Heads (5th May – PS5): “Wax Heads is a cozy-punk narrative sim about working in a struggling record store. Chat to quirky customers with unique tastes, explore a handcrafted record collection, fall in love with bands (and their drama!), or just slack off with your colleagues – whatever gets everyone’s groove back!”
- The Tag-Along Obsession (6th May – PS5): “Hui-Ting’s investigation into a forgotten resort ended in tragedy. She was the sole survivor of a horrifying accident, plagued now by relentless nightmares. A desperate visit to a medium reveals a terrifying truth: she is haunted by a vengeful spirit, and the curse that took her colleagues is still tightening its grip on her life.”
- Evil Inside VR (7th May – PSVR2): “Evil Inside VR is not just a simple adaptation to Virtual Reality. It’s a complete reimagining of the original story, rebuilt to deliver a new, deeper, and more terrifying psychological horror experience. With significant changes in gameplay, lighting, sound, and puzzle design, this version completely transforms the way you experience Mark’s nightmare.”
- Froggy Hates Snow (7th May – PS5): “A survival roguelike where a frog digs through freezing snow, uncovers treasures, unlocks upgrades, and battles mystical creatures. Find the escape door — or defeat the final boss to survive.”
- Haneda Girl (7th May – PS5): “Haneda Girl is a stylish 2D action platformer where you can instantly swap between two characters to deal with threats in the smartest, fastest way possible.”
- Mixtape (7th May – PS5): “On their last night together, three friends embark on one final adventure. Play through a mixtape of memories, set to the soundtrack of a generation.”
- WILL: Follow the Light (7th May – PS5): “WILL: Follow The Light is a story-driven, first-person adventure puzzle game about a perilous personal journey through the harsh northern latitudes. To find peace and reunite with his family, Will must sail across endless waters, face numerous challenges, and ultimately discover himself.”
- Hydroneer (8th May – PS5): “Hydroneer is a mining sandbox game where you dig for gold and other resources to build massive mining machines and a base of operation. Use primitive tools, hydro-powered machines, and player-built structures to dig and evolve your operation in this tycoon-style progression system.”
