Masked villains are a recurring element in the Gundam series. It started with Char Aznable, the primary antagonist of the original anime, and continued with characters like Zechs Merquise in Gundam Wing. Now, a familiar masked villain has reappeared, and fans are getting a rare look at their face – something that was seldom seen in their initial appearances.
Similar to iconic masked villains like Zechs and Char, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED featured Rau Le Creuset, who concealed his identity as a clone with connections to the Da Flaga family. Like the forces led by Char in previous Gundam series, Le Creuset and the PLANT organization worked together to empower “Coordinators.” Though fans caught a glimpse of his face during the show, a new trading card from the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam Arsenal Base BOOSTER PACK [Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Series Vol. 3] reveals his full appearance, which you can view below.

Creuset’s Gundam Future
The movie Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom was a huge success, and it’s easy to see why. The storyline has been a fan favorite for a while now, though one character, Creuset, wasn’t in the new film. He died at the end of the original anime, and the series generally doesn’t bring characters back from the dead, even with its science fiction setting. After the movie’s release, the story continued with Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Recollection, a pair of animated episodes that added even more depth to the universe.
Despite the recent success of the biggest Gundam movie ever, SEED hasn’t announced any plans for new stories in that universe. However, the Gundam franchise often revisits its established worlds, and fans can look forward to Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe arriving in North America on May 15th. This film revisits the original storyline featuring Amuro and Char, with Noa Hathaway taking the lead. Plus, the creators of Gundam GQuuuuuuX have suggested they might bring that alternate reality series back for another season.
