Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Details How Motherhood Has Changed Her “Forever”

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is basking in motherhood.

Turning one year old, Gypsy and her boyfriend Ken Urker’s daughter, Aurora, prompted Gypsy to think about how much happier her life is since becoming a mom.

In a recent post, Gypsy shared that this year has been a whirlwind of emotions – both peaceful and overwhelming. She described it as a time of incredible tenderness and a newfound depth of love, marked by the joys and challenges of new parenthood – from sleepless nights and tiny hands to heartwarming laughter and watching her child take their first steps. She says this year has profoundly changed her.

The post included photos of Aurora as a baby, and another of her at one year old, happily sitting on a toy horse.

“Seeing her blossom has been the most wonderful thing in my life,” Gypsy said as she marked the end of 2025 and welcomed the new year, 2026.

Ken also posted a message and pictures of Aurora enjoying her Ms. Rachel-themed party, complete with new toys and decorations.

Ken shared on December 29th that his daughter had a wonderful birthday thanks to everyone’s kindness. He said she was showered with love and had a very special day.

Aurora is Gypsy-Rose’s daughter. Gypsy-Rose was released from prison in December 2023 after serving eight years for her involvement in the 2015 death of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. She has expressed hope that her past won’t negatively impact how Aurora sees her.

I don’t want my actions to make my daughter hate me,” Gypsy-Rose explained on her Lifetime show, Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup. “I’m not a bad person, and I don’t want her to think I am.”

She went on to say that she didn’t want our family to end up like those you hear about – families with hidden, painful pasts that cause their children to feel estranged, angry, and full of resentment. She simply wanted us to avoid that kind of painful dynamic.

Her personal journey has inspired her to be the very best mother she can be, someone her daughter will admire and respect.

“I can’t stand it whenever I’m making Aurora a bottle and she’s crying for like a minute and a half,” she added. “I want to comfort her, I want to make it all better. Knowing that my mom was in the room with me when I was screaming in pain after a surgery or a procedure or a test. And I’m like, ‘How? How?'”

Ultimately, she doesn’t want to dwell on the past—she wants to move forward.

She described a new baby as a chance to teach and share what’s important to you – your values, beliefs, and hopes for the future.

In late March 2024, three months after her prison release, Gypsy shared that she and Ryan broke up.

She announced on Facebook that she and her husband are separating and she has moved back in with her parents, who live near the bayou, according to People magazine.

Gypsy Rose had surgery on her nose on April 5, 2024. The changes to her appearance will be shown on the Lifetime show, Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up.

According to court records obtained by TMZ, Gypsy filed for divorce from Ryan on April 8, 2024. This happened almost two years after they were married in prison in July 2022.

In late April 2024, shortly after filing for divorce, Gypsy revealed she was back together with her former fiancé, Ken Urker. She then confirmed their renewed relationship in May by posting a video of their sweet moments together on TikTok.

In her video, Gypsy described her love story with Ken as “legendary.”

A fan brought up Gypsy’s ex, Ryan, and then asked a sexually suggestive question about her current partner, Ken, in the comments section. Gypsy responded promptly and honestly.

Gypsy recently tried an In-N-Out Burger for the first time – a Double-Double, made ‘animal style.’ She gave it a rating of 7 out of 10.

Gypsy described meeting Kim Kardashian, who has recently become involved in criminal justice reform, as a great honor.

I was so happy to finally talk with her! I told Keltie Knight from TopMob News how much I appreciate her taking the time. We had a really good conversation about prison reform, something she’s clearly done incredible work on. It means a lot to me personally, because I’ve experienced the system firsthand, and it’s a cause that’s really important to me.

Just under three months after starting the divorce process, Gypsy revealed she was pregnant with her first child with her new partner, Ken.

She revealed in a July 2024 YouTube video that she’s 11 weeks pregnant, adding that the pregnancy was a complete surprise.

Gypsy showed off her meaningful new tattoos in July.

Gypsy and Ken found out they were having a girl at a party in August 2024, and in November, they announced the baby’s name will be Aurora Raina Urker.

In December, Gypsy Rose Blanchard released her memoir, My Time to Stand, co-written with Melissa Moore and Michele Matrisciani, detailing her life story up to that point.

Gypsy gave birth to her first baby on Dec. 28, 2024, exactly one year after her prison release.
