Although a second season of Hawkeye isn’t happening, Marvel Studios reportedly intends to continue featuring Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Hailee Steinfeld first played Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the 2021 Disney+ series Hawkeye. The character, originally created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung in 2005’s Young Avengers #1, later appeared in the 2023 film The Marvels, where Ms. Marvel asked her to join a new team. Steinfeld has also provided the voice for different versions of Kate Bishop in animated episodes of What If…? and Marvel Zombies.
What does the future hold for Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop in the MCU?
According to insider Alex Perez, Kate Bishop won’t be in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, despite recent speculation. While some fans may be disappointed, Perez says she will still have an important part to play in future Marvel Cinematic Universe stories.
The recent mention of Kate Bishop could mean a few things. She might show up in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film, which has been a popular rumor, or she could join the Young Avengers team with characters like Ms. Marvel and Cassie Lang. Another possibility is an appearance in the next season of Daredevil: Born Again. Given that Kate Bishop is based in New York City, and her mother’s former fiancé, Jack Duquesne (played by Tony Dalton), is already a character on the show, this seems like a likely option.
Currently, two major heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Jon Bernthal as The Punisher and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk – are set to appear in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. There’s also speculation that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will be in the movie, but Marvel and Sony haven’t officially confirmed their roles yet.
I’m really hoping to see Hailee Steinfeld back as Kate Bishop in the MCU soon! Until then, I’ve been rewatching all six episodes of Hawkeye on Disney+ to tide me over – it’s still so good!
