Valve surprised everyone by announcing three new Steam devices that will be released in early 2026. Although they aren’t currently developing their own games to highlight the VR capabilities of the Steam Frame, there’s a chance we’ll hear news about HLX – potentially Half-Life 3 – in the next few weeks.
According to insider GabeFollower, plans for a potential announcement haven’t changed since last year, and the current target is still 2025. Meanwhile, Tyler McVicker, another well-known insider, believes an announcement could come within the next two weeks, as he shared on a recent Twitch stream.
November 19th is the anniversary of the original Half-Life, which first came out on PC in 1998. With a recent announcement and the possibility of a trailer at The Game Awards in December, fans are wondering if a new installment might be on the way – and anything is possible!
Mike Straw from Insider Gaming also tweeted a cryptic message – “It’s happening soon enough. Just be ready.” This has led some to believe an announcement for HLX/Half-Life 3 might be coming. However, it’s also possible Valve is preparing to release, or begin public testing of, their hero shooter game, Deadlock.
It’s happening soon enough. Just be ready.
