Michael Connelly, best known for his Harry Bosch novels, is launching a new crime series that will be turned into a TV show.
Michael Connelly has previously adapted several of his novels for television, including Bosch, Bosch: Legacy, Ballard, and The Lincoln Lawyer. Titus Welliver has consistently played detective Harry Bosch across these shows, and Cameron Monaghan will portray a younger Bosch in the new prequel, Bosch: Start of Watch. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo stars as Mickey Haller in The Lincoln Lawyer, which has aired four seasons on Netflix and is currently filming its fifth and final season.
According to Deadline, David E. Kelley is creating a series for HBO Max based on Michael Connelly’s popular 2024 novel, Nightshade. The show, called Welcome to Catalina, is planned to have a new season released each year. Kelley is writing the story, which follows a former Los Angeles County detective named Stilwell. He’s now working as a police officer on Catalina Island, dealing mostly with minor disturbances, but that changes when a body is found in the harbor.
