James Norton, known for his role in ‘House of Guinness,’ is the newest addition to Sam Mendes’s upcoming films about The Beatles. He will portray Brian Epstein, the band’s manager, in the project.
Norton publicly confirmed the news on Instagram by sharing a screenshot of a Deadline article about his casting. He simply captioned the post with “Brian” and a heart emoji.
As a huge Beatles fan, I’ve always been fascinated by Brian Epstein. He really was the guy who discovered them way back in 1961, and he managed them through everything until his untimely death in 1967 at just 32 years old. Honestly, I think it’s impossible to overstate how important he was to their incredible journey to becoming the biggest band in the world.
The report indicates that Edward Norton will be the lead actor in all four upcoming films, each telling the story of the famous band from the viewpoint of a different member.
The announcement of Norton joining the cast follows recent news that Saoirse Ronan will play Linda McCartney and Mia McKenna-Bruce will portray Maureen Starkey, adding more well-known names to the film’s ensemble.
There’s a lot of talk that Anna Sawai, known for her role in Shogun, might play Yoko Ono, and Aimee Lou Wood, from Sex Education and The White Lotus, could be cast as Pattie Boyd. However, these roles haven’t been officially confirmed yet.
The actors portraying the Beatles – Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr – were announced back in April.

The digital Beatles were unexpectedly revealed at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. They performed a section of their song ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ and finished with a coordinated bow, just like the original band.
He admitted it was a bit intimidating, but ultimately a rewarding experience. He really enjoyed the chance to tackle something so complex and challenging.
The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event celebrates each member’s individual journey while recognizing the band’s incredible collective legacy. The tagline is: ‘Each man has his own story, but together they are legendary.’
