ITV’s upcoming police drama, Winter, has added Jamie Kenna, known for his role in House of the Dragon, to its cast.
This new series, inspired by the French show Balthazar, features Richard Armitage as Ethan Winter, a brilliant but unusual forensic pathologist. He teams up with DI Lauren Bell, played by Annabel Scholey, a determined detective, to solve crimes in Bristol. Together, they make a powerful investigative duo.
However, there’s a problem: the investigation is connected to an unresolved murder that hits very close to home and constantly worries Dr. Winter.
Joining the cast with Kenna are Carlotta Banat, known for her roles in ‘Heads of State’ and ‘3 Body Problem’; Josh Barrow, who has appeared in ‘Hostage’, ‘Vera’, and ‘Dear England’; Adwoa Akoto from ‘The Sandman’ and ‘Surface’; and Jay Taylor, recognized for his work in ‘Manhunt’, ‘Ten Percent’, and ‘Broken Bird’.
I’m excited to report some fantastic new additions to the cast! We’ve got Rishi Rian, who you might recognize from “Ridley” and “Damaged,” joining the project. Also coming on board are Deirdre Mullins – a standout in “Bad Sisters” and “The Couple Next Door” – plus the incredibly talented Ellis Elijah, known for their work in “Mammoth,” and Evie Coles, who’s been captivating audiences in “The Lady Grace Mysteries.” It’s really shaping up to be a strong ensemble!
At present, details of their roles remain under wraps.
Dries Vos, known for his work on ‘The Couple Next Door’ and ‘Professor T’, and Kaat Beels, who worked on ‘Professor T’ and ‘The Twelve’, will direct the upcoming series ‘Winter’. Matt Baker, also from ‘Professor T’, will be the producer. Jo McGrath and Walter Iuzzolino from Eagle Eye Drama will serve as executive producers.
David Allison, known for ‘The Couple Next Door,’ and Mark Greig, who worked on ‘Ashes to Ashes,’ wrote the screenplay for this show.
Filming is now underway on the series in Bristol and Belgium.
