How Christie Brinkley’s Daughter Sailor Helps Her With Social Media

Sailor Brinkley Cook is modeling social media behavior for her mom. 

Christie Brinkley and her daughter, 27, who she shares with ex-husband Peter Cook, often exchange advice. Christie gives modeling tips, while her daughter helps her with social media.

Sailor told TopMob News at the New York screening of Brunello: The Gracious Visionary on April 14th that she’s been teaching someone how to use TikTok and be more active on Instagram, covering everything from posting to general social media skills.

The influencer explained that she assists her mother with creating videos and managing her social media, but she avoids getting overly involved.

Sailor shared in a joint interview that they prefer to let their partner manage their own social media presence. They find it charming and genuine, and don’t want to interfere with that.

As a longtime fan, I’ve always admired how Christie balances being a supportive mom with giving her kids space to grow. She’s got a lot of experience, of course – she’s raised Alexa Ray, who’s 40 and from her relationship with Billy Joel, and Jack, who’s 30 and from her marriage to Richard Taubman. Now, watching her help Sailor navigate the modeling world, it’s clear she’s really careful not to push too hard, letting Sailor find her own path while still offering guidance.

Christie told TopMob that this woman is actively involved in exciting things and is fully aware of the current situation.

Okay, so she will offer advice to Sailor about what she should do with her life, which is amazing! But honestly? She’s totally protective of her closet – like, no entry allowed! Of course, that hasn’t stopped Sailor from trying to peek inside, the little sneak! It’s just… everything about her style is perfection, you know? I totally get why Sailor is so curious!

“She doesn’t let me take anything,” Sailor confessed. “I take things no matter what.”

Christie chuckled, explaining she often finds missing items of her friend’s by browsing her Instagram. She joked, ‘I’ll see something on her feed and realize, ‘Oh, that’s where my pants ended up!’ or ‘That’s where that jacket is now!”

But Sailor was undeterred, joking, “Girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do.”

Sailor doesn’t just support her mom online; she even created a dating profile for Christie, and the response was quite surprising.

Christie recounted on the Are You A Charlotte? podcast that her mother once convinced her not to ride a particular amusement park attraction. She explained that her mother had tried the ride first and advised against it, saying, ‘Mom, you’re right not to go on it, because the people who encouraged me are also encouraging you,’ implying it wasn’t a good experience.
