Now that several trailers for Mortal Kombat have been released with the game’s launch approaching, it’s time to check out the first trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter game.
The Streetfighter plot….
In 1993, former friends and fighting rivals Ryu and Ken are pulled back into the world of combat when Chun-Li asks them to compete in the World Warrior Tournament. This intense competition isn’t just about winning; a dangerous plot is unfolding, forcing Ryu and Ken to confront each other and their troubled histories. If they fail, the consequences will be severe.
A few Streetfighter trailer facts….
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the movie Street Fighter aims to recreate the excitement of the classic arcade game on the big screen, complete with iconic moves like Hadoukens and roundhouse kicks, and featuring all the beloved characters. The film is set in 1993, the same year the Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers arcade game was released, and the game’s story also takes place during that time.
There’s an impressive cast who play the iconic roles as follows:
The cast includes Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, and Callina Liang as Chun-Li. Joe Anoai, known as Roman Reigns, will play Akuma, while David Dastmalchian is M. Bison. Cody Rhodes will portray Guile, and Andrew Schulz is Dan Hibiki. Eric André is cast as Don Sauvage, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Orville Peck as Vega, and Olivier Richters as Zangief. Hirooki Goto will play E. Honda, Rayna Vallandingham is Juli, and Alexander Volkanovski is Joe.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will play Balrog, and Jason Momoa will play Blanka. Momoa is reportedly a big fan of the Street Fighter II series and even owns an arcade version of the game.
