When Stalker 2 first launched, many players wished the game had night vision goggles. Luckily, update 1.6 now includes them, along with several ways to find them. Here’s what we know so far – choose the method that works best for your game and you’ll be better prepared for nighttime adventures.
How to get Night Vision Goggles in Stalker 2
Stalker 2 features four kinds of night vision goggles. You can get them in a few different ways – some are expensive to buy, others you earn by completing missions, and you might even stumble upon one for free. How you acquire them will largely depend on your progress in the game.
You can purchase Generation 1 Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) from Sidorovich, the trader located in the bunker at Rookie Village in the Cordon zone. Rookie Village is a location returning players may recognize, found in the south of Cordon near the zone’s wall. The bunker entrance is just outside the eastern edge of the village. These NVGs cost 24,250 coupons.
You can also get your first generation suits (Gen 1s) as a reward for completing a quest. Talk to Honta, a character who returns from the game Call of Prypiat. He’s located southwest of the weather station in Zaton, and he’ll give you some Gen 1s if you help him with a mutant hunting quest.
You can find a free pair of night vision goggles at the Poorly Hidden Stash, which is south of the Cement Factory in the northern part of Wild Island. The code to open the door is 2711. While the first set you get will be Gen 1 goggles, other types are also available.
You can buy Gen 2 night vision goggles from the trader in Malachite for 56,250 coupons, and Gen 3A goggles from the trader in Prypiat for 112,500 coupons. For Gen 3B goggles, check the western side of Yantar, near the lake, just south of the scientist’s bunker.
You’ll come across another locked storage area. The code to open it is 5578. Night vision goggles (NVGs) are available in various locations, including other hidden stashes – though we don’t know exactly where those are yet. Players will need to find them. We’ll update this guide if we discover any more easily accessible or affordable NVG locations.
