Red Sandstone is one of the many materials you can get in Hytale, though you can’t get it directly.
So, you’ve found Red Sandstone! Many people mine it specifically to get Red Sandstone Cobble. This guide starts with how to obtain the material, but there are still a few more steps to complete.
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to get and make Red Sandstone.
How to Make Red Sandstone

To get Red Sandstone, you’ll need to travel to the Howling Sands desert region and find Red Sandstone blocks. Look for blocks that resemble the example shown above.
After you locate Red Sandstone, you can mine it to obtain Red Sandstone Cobble. Then, you’ll need to process two cobble blocks to create one block of Red Sandstone.
If you want to get 50 Red Sandstone, you’ll have to mine at least 100 Red Sandstone Cobble. Remember that when you’re gathering materials!

Once you’ve gathered enough Red Sandstone Cobble, you’ll need to smelt it using a Furnace. If you don’t already have a Furnace, you can make one with a Workbench.

To get regular Red Sandstone blocks, simply put Red Sandstone Cobble into the top slot of a Furnace, add fuel like Sticks, and let it cook!
Red Sandstone is now fully available for any purpose you choose, like constructing buildings or crafting Clay at the Furniture Workbench. Feel free to use it however you like!
Here’s a helpful hint: you can use a Hammer on Red Sandstone blocks to change how they look. It switches between the standard block and a ‘cobbled’ version. This doesn’t affect how the block works, it’s just a way to customize its appearance.
So, that’s everything you need to know to get Red Sandstone in Hytale! Now, if you’re also trying to find some Glass, I’ve got a guide on where to snag that too – you can check it out here!
