A major leak has confirmed that BioShock 4 is in development, a rumor that started back in 2021. It’s been over ten years since a new BioShock game was released, which is surprising considering how popular and acclaimed the original three games were. They weren’t niche titles – they were award-winning, commercially successful, and still highly regarded today. The long wait wasn’t planned, though. The series creator scaled back his studio to work on a smaller project, and Take-Two Interactive had to find a new team to handle the complex task of creating the next BioShock game.
A new studio, Cloud Chamber, was created to develop the next BioShock game. While the project has been in development for around ten years, it wasn’t officially announced until 2019, when Cloud Chamber started hiring more staff. Despite this, and with 2026 rapidly approaching, we still haven’t seen any details about the game.
BioShock 4 Will Reportedly Be Set in an Arctic City

A recent leak from MP1st appears to confirm long-standing rumors about BioShock 4. Back in 2021, Colin Moriarty of Last Stand Media reported the game would be set in a city in Antarctica, a change from the series’ usual underwater or floating city settings. The new leak supports this, with MP1st obtaining game assets showing snowy and icy landscapes. Reports also suggest a large casino will be featured, possibly as the location for a major action sequence.

The city appears to be under the control of a self-absorbed leader who’s built statues of themself everywhere, as shown in a recent image of a detailed statue holding a globe. We don’t know much about this leader yet, but the game’s protagonist seems to be an ordinary person trying to survive in this dangerous city.
The report indicates that ADAM, the substance granting characters special abilities but with dangerous consequences, will likely be featured in BioShock 4. There’s also speculation about a new enemy type called Flushers, though details about their abilities are currently scarce.
