Great news for anime fans! Hulu’s popular exclusive anime series is coming back for a second season. Plus, with 2026 approaching, we can expect a lot of new and returning anime shows, especially from Shonen Jump magazine. Many long-awaited series will finally premiere, and now we have an exciting update for fans of Undead Unluck.
After a wait since its first season ended, Undead Unluck recently returned with a special episode featuring a completely new story. While fans were hoping for a continuation of the series, it’s now been confirmed that Season 2 of Undead Unluck is officially in production. You can get a first look at it below.
Undead Unluck Season 2 Announced

A second season of Undead Unluck is officially happening! The announcement came after the Undead Unluck Winter Arc special, and includes new artwork of Shen created by the series’ author, Yoshifumi Tozuka. While details like the release date, animation studio, staff, and returning voice actors are still unknown, the confirmation of Season 2 means we’ll find out more information soon.
The manga series Undead Unluck finished its initial run in early 2025, and fans have been eagerly awaiting its return. That return came with the ‘Winter Arc’ special, which premiered on Christmas Day. Like the first season, it’s now available to stream exclusively on Hulu. While it’s expected this second season will remain a Hulu exclusive, future plans could change as the season progresses.
What Is Undead Unluck Winter Arc?

The Winter Arc of Undead Unluck is directed by Sunghoo Park (known for Ninja Kamui and Eiichiro Oda’s Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation), and is produced by E&H Production. Many of the original creative team members have returned, including Yamato Haishima as the screenwriter, Hideyuki Morioka and Shun’ichi Ishimoto as character designers, and Kenichiro Suehiro as the composer. David Production, the studio that animated the first season, is also providing support.
This new story acts as a connection between the first and second seasons, crafted by the series creator, Yoshifumi Tozuka. It introduces redesigned characters, voiced by Kensho Ono as Tella and Takehito Koyasu as a brand new creature called Balance. This marks an exciting beginning for the anime’s future, and fans are eagerly awaiting what comes next.
