Streaming services are discovering animation is a very profitable area, with both anime from Japan and original animated series gaining popularity. Hulu, in a surprising decision, will now share one of its most successful animated shows with Netflix, starting later this month. This marks the first time a Hulu original animated series will be available on a competing platform.
I’m so excited! Solar Opposites is coming to Netflix on September 28th! For those who don’t know, it’s a hilarious show about aliens trying to blend in on Earth. It originally streamed on Hulu, so it’s cool to see it moving over to Netflix. The show started in 2020 and already has five seasons – the last one is actually coming to Hulu on October 13th. We’re not sure yet how many seasons will end up on Netflix, or if the very last season will make the jump too. But seriously, if you haven’t met Korvo, Yumyulack, Terry, and Jesse yet, you’re in for a treat – and now even more people will get the chance!
Solar Opposites’ Farewell
We at egmr.ru recently spoke with Mike McMahan, co-creator of *Solar Opposites*, about the show’s cancellation. He jokingly explained how they reacted to the news: “We realized one day that the network had cancelled us, so we decided to make this the final season. We *could* continue, but without funding, it would be difficult for the artists to keep working – they need to earn a living and afford healthcare.”
Following a recent comment, one of the show’s creators suggested that while this season will be the last for now, it feels more like the end of a beginning. They’ve wrapped up many ongoing jokes and storylines, including those involving The Wall and the Silver Cops. Executive producer Josh Bycel added that they didn’t initially plan for this to be the final season, but they were able to bring those elements – The Wall, the Silver Cops, and ultimately, the Solars – together for a satisfying conclusion, leaving the door open for potential future stories.
Hulu has shared details about the final season of *Solar Opposites*. The description promises a chaotic and funny send-off for the alien family, alongside the conclusion of a long-running story for the tiny humans they’ve kept trapped within their Wall. Expect plenty of unexpected laughs as the series wraps up!
