I Need Universal Studios’ Limited One Piece Event To Become Permanent

I wasn’t sure what to expect at Universal Studios Fan Fest Nights 2026, since it was my first time, but I was really impressed! The event had special experiences tied to lots of popular movies and shows, and there was so much to enjoy.

Fan Fest Nights in 2026 will include a Scooby-Doo adventure teaming up with Universal Monsters on the backlot, a brand-new immersive Jurassic Park experience, a detailed Dungeons & Dragons attraction, a new animated Sailor Moon short, and exciting updates to both Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

The new One Piece stunt show was definitely the highlight of the night, and it was much more exciting than the older Waterworld show – which, frankly, is starting to show its age after being around since the 1995 movie. Having seen it myself, I highly recommend the One Piece experience for anyone who enjoys the manga, anime, or Netflix series. Considering this show and everything else Universal Studios added for the One Piece expansion at Fan Fest Nights, it’s time to seriously consider what the future holds for Waterworld.

Universal Studios’ One Piece Stunt Show Was The Biggest Draw At Fan Fest Nights 2026

Fan Fest Nights 2026 was a blast, but the highlight was definitely the One Piece stunt show. It was so popular – the stands were full for every performance – and it’s easy to see why! People clearly made it their top priority.

The exciting One Piece stunt show, first created for Universal Studios Japan, turned the WaterWorld arena into a thrilling pirate adventure featuring the entire Straw Hat crew. Popular characters like Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji made appearances throughout the show, arriving by boat and zipline amidst spectacular pyrotechnics, to huge applause. The action-packed performance included battles against the Marines, led by Tashigi, and a confrontation with Buggy, with impressive stunts and special effects that brought the characters’ Devil Fruit powers – Luffy’s Gum-Gum and Buggy’s Chop-Chop – to life.

The show also featured some exciting surprise guests, like Tony Tony Chopper, who got a huge reaction from the crowd during the 20-minute performance. The atmosphere was noticeably different – much more energetic – than a typical WaterWorld show I’ve seen at Universal Studios Hollywood. This is because the performers are portraying characters from a very popular series that’s currently attracting a lot of fans, both longtime viewers and newcomers.

All Things Considered, Universal Studios Should Absolutely Sunset Waterworld In Favor Of One Piece

The One Piece stunt show was a big hit, but Universal’s pirate-themed expansion went even further. They completely transformed one of the park’s restaurants into “Sanji’s Galley,” offering special *One Pieceinspired food like Luffy’s Meat on the Bone and Sanji’s Spicy Chicken Katsu (the chicken is definitely worth trying!). The restaurant was incredibly busy all night long.

The official One Piece merchandise was also really well done. You constantly saw guests wearing straw hats or Chopper’s antler hat. The shops had all sorts of souvenirs, including mugs, plush toys shaped like Devil Fruits, and clothing. Thinking about it, it’s clear Universal has a huge opportunity with a franchise as popular as One Piece. In contrast, the movie Waterworld from 1995 is mostly remembered today because of the stunt show at Universal Studios.

One Piece is currently a massive global franchise, thanks to the popularity of its manga and anime, the recent Netflix live-action series, and future projects like the planned remaster. Universal Studios has a great opportunity to replace its Waterworld stunt show with a permanent One Piece attraction. Given its success at Fan Fest Nights, it seems like a natural and smart move.

Universal Studios Fan Fest Nights 2026 occur on select nights from April 23 to May 16th.
