Many American tourists visiting famous London landmarks are often approached by an ice cream vendor – typically described as a somewhat disreputable character – who charges high prices for low-quality ice cream. Reports have even surfaced of tourists paying exorbitant amounts – around £100 – for ice cream that’s so bad it causes illness. However, “The Ice Cream Man” isn’t a documentary about this phenomenon. It’s a new horror film directed by Eli Roth.
What’s in that Ice Cream Man trailer?
The movie takes place in the peaceful summer town of Bayleen Bay, but things quickly turn terrifying when an ice cream truck arrives and its treats cause a disturbing change in the local children. The film shows a series of scenes depicting a group of kids losing their minds.
Ari Millen, known for his role in “Orphan Black,” leads the cast of the new film alongside Benjamin Byron Davis (“Guardians of the Galaxy 3”), Dylan Hawco (“Heartland”), Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), and Sarah Abbott (from Netflix’s “The Body”). Also appearing are Karen Cliche, Shiloh O’Reilly, and Charlie Storey, who previously worked with the director on his film “Thanksgiving.”
This movie is the first release from Eli Roth’s new production company, The Horror Section, which launched in March 2025. Roth directed, produced, and co-wrote the film with Noah Belson, a frequent collaborator who also appeared in Roth’s first movie, ‘Cabin Fever.’ Based on the trailer, it appears the film will feature Roth’s signature style of intense horror and gore. Snoop Dogg is also contributing original music to the project.
The film is released in the US on 7th August 2026 with a UK date to be confirmed
