Since there haven’t been any new games like Virtua Tennis or Hot Shots Tennis recently, we’re happy to play Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! instead.
Okay, so Gameloft and Old Skull Games are dropping this new game on May 28th. It’s basically a super silly, over-the-top take on tennis – think power-ups, crazy extras, and just general mayhem. It’s not a super serious tennis sim, let’s put it that way!
I’m so excited about this new game! It’s got a really cool cast of 15 characters, with favorites like SpongeBob and Garfield! Plus, you can play through a full story on your own, or grab a friend and play together locally – that’s awesome!
Here’s what the blurb has to say:
Anyone can pick up and play – you don’t need to be an expert! With simple controls, the whole family can join in. Enjoy classic gameplay, or try out a variety of fun mini-games. Explore a guided Story Mode, challenge yourself with Mini-Games, or compete in Tournament Mode to become a champion!
The game is reasonably priced at $29.99 or £24.99, but how enjoyable it is to play will be key. The trailer showed some slowdown during fast-paced moments, and we’re hoping that’s improved by the time the game is released.
