INDUSTRIA 2, a story-driven first-person shooter created by Bleakmill, has been pushed back to April 29, 2026. This announcement came on the same day the game was originally scheduled to launch on April 15th. When released, the game will be available on PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG. There are currently no plans to release it on consoles.
Bleakmill announced the delay on Steam, directly addressing player disappointment. The eight-person team explained the challenges faced by small independent studios when working on ambitious projects.
What Bleakmill Said
Bleakmill explained the delay wasn’t due to poor planning, but a necessary decision. The studio recognized that many fans had eagerly anticipated the game’s April 15th release, with some even taking time off work to play it. They said this strong support from the community made announcing the delay particularly challenging and they were grateful for the fans’ dedication.
The studio explained the delay was due to the ambitious scope of the game and the relatively small team working on it. Creating a detailed, story-driven first-person shooter campaign with only eight developers, spread across different countries, is a significant challenge. Bleakmill also highlighted the financial difficulties of being an independent developer, explaining the constant need to balance their creative vision with the costs of keeping the team running each month.
Bleakmill explained the game’s delay was to ensure players have a better experience, and they want to release a polished product they’re proud of.
What INDUSTRIA 2 Is

INDUSTRIA 2 continues the story of INDUSTRIA, the 2021 game set in East Berlin during the Cold War. The original game centered on Nora, a researcher who discovered a hidden AI project. While investigating, she was transported to another dimension.
The new game continues the story several years later. Nora is still trapped in another dimension, living on her own in an old seaside chapel, when she’s unexpectedly drawn back into the center of the conflict with ATLAS – the AI that’s causing the world to fall apart – right as she’s about to escape. Players will need to search, gather resources, and battle their way through a huge, decaying industrial wilderness to find a path back to 1989 East Berlin.
Bleakmill says the game focuses on a deeply engaging, more deliberate playstyle. You’ll interact with the world using realistic physics, craft items, and manage your gear directly within the game itself – there are no traditional menus popping up on the screen. Throughout the story, you’ll find five different weapons, and each one can be customized with attachments like silencers, larger ammo clips, and unique upgrades.
Players will battle mechanized enemies. The developers at Bleakmill have put a lot of focus on how damage looks in the game, using details like leaking oil and parts being torn off to create a unique and disturbing ‘robot body horror’ style. This is designed to make each fight feel much more intense and different from typical shooting games.
People who tried the early demo said the game felt similar to classics like Half-Life, BioShock, and Resident Evil. The developers at Bleakmill said hearing that feedback was incredibly encouraging.
Development Background
INDUSTRIA 2 has been in development since its announcement in 2024. Created by David Jungnickel and Steve Chapman, the eight-person Bleakmill team works remotely from various locations. Built using Unreal Engine 5, this sequel is much larger and boasts higher production quality than the first INDUSTRIA game.
The upcoming sequel will feature 24 maps, a significant increase from the original game’s six. Developers at Bleakmill have stated the story campaign is intended to take players between four and six hours to complete. This shorter length is intentional, aiming for a concise and impactful experience without unnecessary content that doesn’t contribute to the narrative.
A demo of INDUSTRIA 2 was released on Steam in October 2025, and players who tried it have generally given it positive feedback before the game officially launches.
Timeline of the Delay
INDUSTRIA 2 was initially planned to launch in 2025, but its release was first pushed to 2026. Developers Bleakmill and Headup set a firm release date of April 15, 2026, on April 7th, only to announce another delay – this time to April 29th – on the day of the originally scheduled launch.
Just saw the Steam page got updated with the new release date. Good news is, Bleakmill said the delay hits all PC stores – Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store – at the same time, so no one’s waiting longer than anyone else!
Where to Find the Demo
