If you enjoy fighting games and have been following the news today, you’ve probably noticed rumors about Injustice 3. But what’s causing all the buzz?
The previous Injustice game, Injustice 2, was released in 2017. Since then, its developer, NetherRealm Studios, has been focused on the Mortal Kombat series, making a third Injustice game seem less and less likely. The gap between the first and second Injustice games was only four years, so a long delay raises doubts about a sequel.
As a big DC Comics fan, I got really excited last year when someone digging into the files for MultiVersus found hints that a new Injustice game was being made. But honestly, after that, we heard absolutely nothing for almost a year, and I started to lose hope!

I thought we’d never see another one, but MP1st just dropped the news that Injustice 3 is actually happening! NetherRealm Studios is working on it, which is awesome.
MP1st discovered a resume belonging to a Warner Bros. Games artist that mentioned work on Injustice 3. The resume also listed Hogwarts Legacy 2 and two other games that haven’t been publicly revealed.
This situation, jokingly called ‘an oopsie’ within the gaming industry, is actually good news for DC fans. They haven’t had many quality game releases lately, with the VR title Batman: Arkham Shadow being a notable exception.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight appears to be another strong title from Warner Bros. Games, suggesting they’re getting back on track after less successful games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. TopMob Gaming editor Rob Leane was particularly critical of that title, calling it a failure from the start.
Let’s talk about the surprise projects. Could one, or both, actually be the long-awaited Lord of the Rings games? There’s been talk that Warhorse Studios, the team behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance, might be working on one of them.
We’ll continue to share any news about Injustice 3 as it becomes available – whether it’s through leaks, reports, or official announcements. To stay informed, be sure to subscribe to the TopMob Gaming newsletter!
