Season four of Invincible featured intense battles against the Viltrumite Empire, a journey to the underworld, and difficult choices for Mark as he fought to save Earth. However, some actors from the animated series won’t be returning. Notably, Aaron Paul, who voiced Powerplex, left the show because the role was negatively impacting his mental health. Recently, another former cast member revealed they are still unsure why their role was recast.
William, a close friend of Mark Grayson in Invincible, has provided a relatable human viewpoint amidst the show’s epic battles. The character was originally voiced by Andrew Rannells, but Brandon Scott Jones took over the role in season four. Rannells recently told The Direct that he doesn’t know why he was replaced. He believes it may have been due to changes in the show’s use of guest stars, and he was glad to have been involved in the first three seasons. So far, the show hasn’t explained the casting change.
Invincible Season 5 And Beyond
The reason for the actor change for William remains a mystery, but we have some updates about the future of Invincible. Season five is confirmed to arrive next year, and it promises plenty of challenges for Mark Grayson. With Thragg and the Viltrumites now present on Earth and attempting to grow their empire through reproduction with humans, Invincible finds itself in a fragile and unstable peace with the alien invaders – a situation that’s likely to erupt into conflict.
Robert Kirkman, the creator and executive producer of the Invincible TV show, has discussed how many seasons it will take to adapt the entire comic book series. He initially suggested seven to eight seasons would be needed to tell Mark Grayson’s story, but later indicated it could potentially run for nine or ten. The show has already depicted some incredibly intense superhero battles, and comic book readers know there’s much more to come. Good news for fans: season five is scheduled to premiere in 2027, so they won’t have to wait long to see Mark Grayson return.
