As a lifelong Trek fan, I have to say Star Trek: Strange New Worlds really felt like a breath of fresh air. It perfectly captured the spirit of the original series while still feeling modern and exciting. So, it was a real shock to hear it’s ending after just four seasons. I honestly thought Strange New Worlds was the one show Paramount would keep going, especially with everything happening in the streaming world and all the new shows popping up. It just felt like the one they’d build around.
It really hit me today that Strange New Worlds is wrapping up! The cast is posting about their last days on set in Toronto, and honestly, it’s a little heartbreaking. It’s a bittersweet moment for them, of course, but knowing it’s coming to an end is going to be tough for all of us fans, too.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Cast Get Emotional While Saying Goodbye
Celia Rose-Gooding, who plays Nyota Uhura, announced on Instagram that filming has finished! She shared a post from outside her trailer saying, “5 year mission complete. She’s Wrapped! Long Live Star Freedom.” Later, she posted a picture of herself on the bridge of the Enterprise, showing off her communicator badge, and asked, “how you feeling post wrap?” to accompany the photo of her smiling face.
Christina Chong, who plays La’an Noonien-Singh, has shared a farewell message, stating that her five-year run on the show has come to an end and calling it an amazing experience.
Martin Quinn, who plays Scotty, shared a farewell post on social media, first showing a picture of his trailer door with the message “That’s a wrap on Scot-man” and “See ye round Scot-man.” He then reshared a post from a friend, featuring pictures of them together, with the caption expressing her pride in him finishing his work on Star Trek and a playful invitation for him to “beam me up anytime.”
Jess Bush, who plays Nurse Chapel, shared a heartfelt message saying she’s incredibly grateful for the past five years working with the show’s cast and crew. She announced that filming has finished with a playful reference to being ‘wrapped.’ Along with the announcement, she posted a behind-the-scenes photo and a collection of pictures showing the cast having fun, bonding, and working together on set.
Jessa Bush compiled a book of behind-the-scenes photos from the set and gave a copy to each of her fellow cast members as a farewell gift. Anson Mount (Captain Pike) shared about it online, calling it a beautiful and cherished keepsake he’ll treasure for years to come. He also posted some of the photos and joked about needing a word to describe the feeling of already missing something while you’re still experiencing it.
Mount’s gallery featured a photo with Chris Fisher, the show’s producing director. Fisher also shared a detailed video blog about his experience working on the series, expressing his lifelong dream of being involved with Star Trek and how much he enjoyed collaborating with the actors.
As Trek Movie pointed out, the cast of Strange New Worlds appears to be intentionally sharing farewell messages – and it’s creating a lot of buzz. Fans are eagerly awaiting posts from lead actors like Ethan Peck (Spock), and together, the cast is generating excitement for the upcoming final season.
