The latest episode of *Peacemaker* season 2 finally revealed the truth about the seemingly perfect Earth Peacemaker has been visiting. It’s actually an alternate Earth, designated “Earth X” by creator James Gunn, and Peacemaker has encountered many interesting people there. Now that this major secret is out, fans are speculating about who else the 11th Street Kids might meet, and G.I. Robot from *Creature Commandos* is a popular suggestion. James Gunn has now responded to the possibility of G.I. Robot appearing in live-action, and has hinted at where fans shouldn’t expect to see him.
James Gunn confirmed in an Entertainment Weekly interview that G.I. Robot will eventually appear in live-action following the Earth X reveal, but clarified that it won’t likely be in Peacemaker season 2, as the situation is complex.
Gunn confirmed the character’s return, stating, “Yes, but don’t expect it to be in season two of Peacemaker.” He anticipates this will be the main topic of discussion following the interview.
A Live-Action G.I. Robot

G.I. Robot became a popular character in the first season of *Creature Commandos*, and fans have been curious if he might appear in a live-action project soon. James Gunn has confirmed they’ve discussed a live-action version and now have a clear path forward, thanks to the technology and experience gained while working on *Superman*.
James Gunn recently discussed with The Hollywood Reporter how they’ve considered bringing various characters to life in live-action films. He hinted at a groundbreaking new technology being used in the upcoming *Superman* movie, stating it would allow them to realistically create GI Robot if they chose to. He didn’t offer specifics, but emphasized the technology is a game-changer for this type of visual effect.
Where Could He Show Up?

James Gunn didn’t completely rule out a second season of *Peacemaker* debuting soon, but his comments strongly imply it won’t happen immediately. This raises the question of where season 2 might appear, and fortunately, there’s a central character who seems connected to all of James Gunn’s plans for the DC Universe.
Frank Grillo plays Rick Flag Sr., and he’s quickly becoming a key figure in the DC Universe, appearing in *Creature Commandos*, *Superman*, and season 2 of *Peacemaker*. He’s expected to return for *Man of Tomorrow*, and could also appear in projects like those featuring Clayface, Bane/Deathstroke, and *Supergirl*. Because Rick Flag Sr. previously worked with G.I. Robot, that character could easily appear alongside him in future projects as well, making him a useful connecting character.
When it comes to potential guest appearances, *Supergirl* is a possibility, particularly given what happened in *Superman* and the involvement of Flag Sr. It makes you wonder if he might call for help, and who he’d ask. Another possibility is *Lanterns*, since it’s a mystery set on Earth, and a powerful, unpredictable robot doesn’t seem out of place when Green Lanterns are involved.
It’s still unclear when G.I. Robot will appear, but the groundwork is being laid, and we’re excited to see it happen. Meanwhile, you can watch new episodes of *Peacemaker* season 2 on HBO Max.
