Rumors are swirling about who will play a key character in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow. Deadline reported that Ella Purnell, Adria Arjona, and Marisa Abela were being considered for the role of Maxima, but James Gunn quickly dismissed the report on social media.
James Gunn criticized a recent report from Deadline, calling it inaccurate and poorly researched on Threads. He expressed disappointment, stating he’d always considered Deadline a reliable source. Gunn added that his team would have immediately dismissed the information if they’d been asked to review it beforehand.
Gunn explained that he’s known Adria for years, ever since he worked with her on the movie Belko Experiment. He also said he admires both Marisa and Ella, though he’s never actually met them, which he finds surprising.
